We have an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Manager, Commercial Services in our Commercial Services Department. Reporting to the Director, Commercial Services, Terminals, the successful candidate will lead and be accountable for the profitable and sustainable business performance of a commercial portfolio (Duty Free, Food & Beverage) representing $300M in terms of sales and more than 70 locations within the airport.
Key responsibilities in relation to the portfolio include:
Building the airport’s Duty Free and Food & Beverage programs, including space allocation and optimal commercial mix; and identifying opportunities for future growth and improved experience
Establishing effective business relationships with existing and new partners
Contributing to the development of growth strategies allowing the department to meet its goals related to revenue generation, operational excellence and innovation
Identifying and presenting business cases for new or complementary offerings
Managing and communicating key metrics including sales, revenue, traffic, day to day operations, and other quantitative/qualitative analytics and providing contextual review and analysis
Developing and implementing commercial driven programs that seek to provide passengers with an exciting, varied and seamless shopping experience
Developing and monitoring the Customer Service Excellence Program related to the commercial program (Mystery Shop program, level of service & hospitality)
Providing support and direction to concession partners contributing to the development and implementation of marketing and promotional programs
Providing support and direction to direct reports and others within the Commercial services team – this includes monitoring work efforts and performance, hiring, coaching, motivating and supporting developmental activities, conducting formal evaluations and applying appropriate discipline
Remaining current on all relevant innovations and trends related to retail both within the airport sector and beyond to proactively identify opportunities and respond accordingly
Key qualifications include:
Ten years’ related experience in business development, retail, hospitality, marketing, e-commerce or contract management and five years’ supervisory experience, supplemented by a bachelor’s degree in business; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Experience in a large, multi-category environment with a strong commercial knowledge driving revenue and improved customer experience
Experience in designing and implementing growth strategies and programs
Adept of analysing financial information and harnessing data to maximize performance
Relationship builder with key leaders and other business partners.
Exposure to dynamic and varied commercial business streams and projects requiring complex time management
Program management, operational experience in retail and/or hospitality, multichannel approach, are an asset
Experience preparing and presenting business cases and rationale
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven experience managing and coaching teams for high performance
