Our National Accounts Intern is hired for a 10-week immersive experience where they will have an opportunity to learn about the ways in which macro retail trends impact ShopCore’s portfolio by participating in a wide array of projects that will have lasting impact on the future of the department and experience the culture of ShopCore. This position is based out of ShopCore’s headquarters in Chicago, IL.
ShopCore is one of the Blackstone Group’s real estate portfolio companies specializing in retail assets. ShopCore aspires to be the preeminent owner and operator of community, power and grocery anchored centers throughout the country. ShopCore owns over 16 million square feet, with properties in densely populated sub-markets and anchored by best-in- class retailers.
Our 2020 summer internship program will begin June 2020 and last through August 2020. To be eligible, you must be a college student during the time of the internship program.
Become familiar with retailer earnings releases and transcripts by compiling quarterly earnings summaries for publicly traded retail companies
Assist in the research, creation, and editing of slides for the Retail Section of the ShopCore Board Book
Edit and add to tenant data in Salesforce
Write at least 2 opinion pieces about trends in retail for publication in weekly Point of Sale newsletter
Compile retail news for Point of Sale
Participate in producing Point of Sale Live – a quarterly streaming video project
Work on identifying opportunities for upcoming portfolio reviews
Current junior undergraduate student at an accredited four-year institution (graduating 2021)
Pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, real estate, economics or business
Minimum GPA of 5
Strong knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint; advanced knowledge of MS Excel preferred
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in Chicago in a full-time capacity for 10 weeks, beginning in June of 2020
