Our client, a privately held full-service real firm who leases and manages retail and mixed-use assets in the Southeast, is seeking a Leasing Manager responsible for prospecting, marketing, and executing retail leases.
The portfolio includes properties totaling over 6 million square feet in North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. The company strives to provide a unique approach to each asset which results in exceptional asset performance.
Primary responsibility is retail leasing associated with the existing vacancies and expected upcoming vacancies in the portfolio
Direct all deals at the assigned properties with national, regional, and local tenants.
High level of experience with national tenants.
Gain superior knowledge of the markets in which the properties are located
Travel to and prospect in the markets where the properties are located
Create merchandising plans for each property to identify prospective tenants
Return phone calls regarding space inquiries
Determine the viability of any prospect based on their business plan and financials and make a recommendation to ownership accordingly
Lead calls with owners to give leasing updates as needed
Maintain all site plans/leasing materials ensuring they are up to date and accurate
Create a property business plan, market surveys, and prospect list during property acquisition due diligence period
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget of each assigned asset
When appropriate, represent tenants in site selection
Attend ICSC conferences as needed
7+ years of experience in retail real estate
Demonstrated success leasing to national and regional retail tenants
Experience reporting to institutional asset managers is preferred
Prior REIT experience helpful
Cold calling/canvassing experience required
Four-year college degree preferred
Strong presentation and verbal skills
Proficient in Microsoft software (Word, Outlook, Excel); Property Capsule and CRM systems experience preferred
