This position is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and administering the City's economic development programs, plans, activities, policies, and procedures of the Economic Development Division. The position is also responsible for the revitalization efforts, including but not limited to business attraction, retention, and expansion, and collaboration with other departments and agencies, business community, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Graduation from college with a degree in urban planning, business or public administration, economics, or closely related field. Advanced degree is highly desirable.
Five years of increasingly responsible experience in the administration of redevelopment, economic development and/or land use planning programs with at least two years of responsible project management experience.
