Working with General Counsel & SVP, Talent Engagement & Office Services, the Director, Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Center of Excellence will be responsible for building ICSC’s new ESG Center of Excellence (COE). The COE’s objective is to provide both in-house and curated external ESG content relevant to ICSC’s members in retail real estate. The COE will offer the following:
· Digital resources that address the fundamentals of starting, managing, and growing an ESG program and reporting within the context of retail and real estate.
· ESG thought leadership, policy guidance and best practices.
· ICSC member support including related conference and webinar content.
· Educational curriculum offering videos and webinars on topics tailored to ESG.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
· Partner with the General Counsel on the development of ESG strategy as it pertains to supporting ICSC’s member needs
· Generate and aggregate content relevant to starting, managing and growing an ESG program and reporting
· Develop and implement industry thought-leadership and policy
· Develop relevant internal and external education and best practices for members
· Provide ICSC member support including related conference and webinar content, and peer engagement related to ESG practices
· Establish communication channels/partnerships with regulatory agencies, peer organizations and other external stakeholders
· Conduct proactive outreach with ICSC membership to facilitate strong relationships with ESG stakeholders
· Collaborate with Public Relations, marketing, and editorial teams to increase awareness of the Center of Excellence within the commercial real estate and retail industries
· Provide educational resources and expert guidance, through coordination with the internal public policy team, on federal, state, and local legislation impacting ICSC member companies.
· Deliver webinars and virtual events or event programming to engage membership in COE initiatives
· Conceive and execute on long-term COE strategic plan in alignment with organization goals
· Involve internal and external stakeholders in assessment and evolution of COE and overall integration into ICSC’s value proposition
· Increase ICSC’s presence through external leadership, speaking engagements and industry partnership opportunities
· Collaborate with the VP of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion on DEI content, resources and programming
· Collaborate with the Global Policy department on environmental policy, member support and resources.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree
· Minimum 8 years of experience in Sustainability or ESG program management, or a similar role designing and establishing a service offering for ESG stakeholders within the context of commercial real estate.
· Experience in developing content relevant to ESG, including background with reporting and disclosure including reporting standards and platforms (SDGs, GRI, TCFD, SASB, GRESB, CDP, ISS and others)
· Demonstrated success working cross functionally and with external vendors to achieve targets.
· Strategic thinker, resourceful, dedicated to producing results in an environment that necessitates multi-tasking and taking the initiative to drive progress.
· Prior experience communicating externally to high-impact stakeholders who have a vested interest in the organization’s success.
· Established relationships with other industry leaders in the field of ESG in the built environment, preferred.
