Sterling Organization (the “Company”) is currently seeking a Leasing Associate to be based in Los Angeles, CA. This position will report to the Senior Managing Director, Leasing, based in the Company’s West Palm Beach, FL headquarters, to provide shop and specialty leasing support for a portfolio of six assets comprising of approximately 900,000 square feet located in Southern California.  

Responsibilities           

• Manage the specialty leasing program for an 80,000 sf, 200+ tenant building that is an integral part of a larger 400,000 sf anchored retail center.
• Identify leasing prospects via canvassing, cold calling and by building/maintaining relationships with tenant brokers with a focus on kiosk, pushcart, temporary and specialty tenants
• Work side-by-side with the Los Angeles-based Vice President, Leasing, to negotiate letters of intent for long term, permanent tenants and to manage the lease process with the Company’s construction and legal departments
• Proactively handle tenant renewals to maintain each asset’s income stream
• Prepare market studies, lease budgets and leasing activity reports for distribution to senior management
• Develop sales tools such as marketing and merchandising plans along with the Company’s marketing department.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of retail leasing experience canvassing for local tenants
• Fluency in Spanish
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills critical to the success of this role
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
