This position is the key operations and administrative leader of the company and a strategic partner to the CEO and member of the executive committee. With oversight of accounting, human resources and information technology, the President/COO will co-develop and execute a financial strategy, lead, and strengthen business operations, optimize the company’s systems, and oversee a high-quality infrastructure in service of company’s business plan. With a goal of ensuring long-term financial sustainability, the President/COO will bring visionary leadership, a sharp focus on financial metrics, a penchant for transparency and a positive can-do mindset. They will lead, develop, mentor, and empower a high performing team and be a strong advocate for a culture of equity, inclusion, and diversity.
The position leads the company’s operational and financial management and is a strategic adviser to the CEO.
Responsibilities:
Envision, develop, and execute an agenda and financial and operating structure that supports the company’s initiatives.
Ensure that financial, capital, and operational resources and controls are in place and are aligned with the mission and ambitions of the organization.
Develop, motivate, and lead a high-performing team to cultivate a mindset of efficiency and effectiveness in a culture focused on excellence and service. Empower teams for greater visibility and accountability.
Review processes and policies to simplify workflows and internal controls with the goal of making the organization more efficient and effective.
Oversee operations and provide mentorship and support to the functional executive leaders, fostering a culture of high performance and high engagement.
Oversee the management of financial resources, including the development of annual and long-range operating and capital plans.
Facilitate the use of key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics and institution-wide financial analysis to inform decision making and business plan changes and drive profitability.
Effectively communicate operational and financial strategies and budget positions.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree is required; an M.B.A. or related advanced degree is a plus.
The ideal candidate will be a broadly skilled, sophisticated business operations and finance executive with at least 12 years of experience and a track record of success in a complex workplace and a focus on optimizing resources.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience overseeing many critical business functions, as well as demonstrated success working as part of a collaborative leadership team driving innovation and business process improvements.
They will be an accomplished leader with a focus on talent development, team empowerment and distributed leadership.
They will have the ability to move fluidly between being a strategic adviser and thought partner to the CEO and a key contributor on the leadership team.
