Overview
Our client is creating an organization to aggressively go after hundreds of millions of dollars of Mixed-Use Development opportunities across our US portfolio properties. This position will play a key role in large, mixed-use developments by driving schedules, tracking budgets, conducting due diligence analysis, and coordinating city permits/entitlements. From a career path perspective, this is a highly developmental position with significant opportunity for advancement. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Mixed-Use Development.
Essential Functions
- Assist SVP, Mixed Use Development with coordination of all mixed-use projects including:
o Maintain schedules for each project and inform appropriate parties of upcoming deadlines
o Maintain pre-development budgets for each project and track commitments and spent-to-date
o Assist in city filings and coordinate meetings for entitlements, demo permits, etc.
o Coordinate consultant contracts and invoice payments
o Maintain due diligence files and war rooms
o Coordinate with other departments to gather information as needed (leasing, legal, construction, etc.)
- Assist with preparation of analysis for new developments, redevelopment and tenant specific opportunities. Help preparation of project proposals, pro formas, budgets, feasibility analyses, and shared parking analysis.
- Help prepare prospective presentations and new leasing proposals for tenants and prospective residential, hotel and office developers. Coordinate with brokers on offering memorandums and due diligence.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary Company teams including Construction, Leasing and Property Management to manage the full cycle development process through lease up, design, construction, and project completion
- Assist with identification and analysis of development and zoning regulations related to new projects and expansion of existing properties. Coordinate with internal legal teams for the analysis and interpretation of REA’s, Leases and related controlling documents.
- Assist in city filings and coordinate meetings for entitlements, demo permits and other required statutory approvals.
- Assist in preparation of presentations for executive meetings, ownership meetings and public meetings.
- Monitor and maintain schedules and budgets for all projects.
- Coordinate consultant contracts and invoice payments
- Develop and maintain a broad range of industry relationships with potential tenants, consultants, and governmental agencies.
- Work with the Senior Vice President on development of department budgets, goals, and objectives.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental procedures and controls to more effectively monitor projects and prospective deal pipelines, and improve the processes, activities, and outcomes of the Company’s development activities.

- Must be willing to travel as required.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant real estate development experience managing full-cycle processes associated with large-scale premium developments. Specific experience in retail developments particularly regional mall development will be a plus;
- BA or BS Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Architecture or related field required
- MBA, JD or other relevant advanced degree preferred
