Our Client, a vertically integrated private equity real estate investment firm, is seeking a Vice President of Asset Management to lead the strategy, execution, and long?term value creation of its commercial real estate portfolio. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving asset?level and portfolio?level performance across the full investment lifecycle, partnering closely with executive leadership and cross?functional teams to ensure assets are positioned to achieve business plan objectives and deliver superior risk?adjusted returns.
POSITION SUMMARY: This role combines strategic oversight with strong asset?level execution, providing leadership across leasing, capital deployment, operating performance, and monetization strategies while serving as a key internal and external stakeholder interface.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and execute asset management strategies to maximize asset value, cash flow, and long?term portfolio returns across retail and commercial real estate holdings.
Oversee and drive execution of asset?level business plans, including leasing strategy, operating budgets, capital initiatives, redevelopment efforts, and exit planning.
Play an active leadership role in leasing strategy, including collaboration with leasing teams and brokers and approval of key leasing decisions, renewals, redevelopments, and major lease transactions.
Identify risks and opportunities through detailed financial, operational, and market analysis and recommend decisive actions to enhance asset performance and portfolio positioning.
Develop, review, and present internal and external asset, portfolio, and fund?level reporting, including performance analyses, strategic recommendations, and investor communications.
Partner closely with executive leadership on portfolio optimization initiatives, asset repositioning strategies, and new fund or investment strategies.
Collaborate cross?functionally with Investments, Leasing, Property Management, Development, Finance, and Legal teams to align execution with asset and portfolio objectives.
Maintain a deep understanding of asset?specific and regional market dynamics, tenant credit, competitive positioning, and retail trends to inform leasing, capital, and disposition strategies.
Support acquisition and disposition efforts throughout the investment lifecycle, including participation in due diligence, underwriting validation, transition planning, and disposition execution.
Develop expertise in new target markets by providing market assessments as acquisition opportunities are identified.
Champion disciplined capital allocation and support portfolio?level ESG and sustainability initiatives in alignment with company and investor objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Real Estate, Business, Economics, or a related field required; MBA or master’s degree in real estate preferred.
7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in asset management, real estate investment, or portfolio management, preferably within a vertically integrated real estate platform. Conversely, a management consulting background could also be a strong background for this role.
Strong financial acumen with demonstrated ability to translate operating and market data into actionable investment and asset strategies.
Proven experience with leasing strategy, asset?level negotiations, and managing value?add or repositioning initiatives.
Extensive experience collaborating with internal teams and managing external partners and joint venture relationships.
Strong knowledge of retailers’ market positions, credit profiles, expansion plans, and co-tenancy preferences.
Excellent executive?level communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, including direct interaction with senior leadership and investors.
High integrity, strong ownership mentality, and a hands?on, problem?solving approach suited to a fast?paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and asset management systems and working knowledge of Claude Enterprise is a plus; experience leveraging technology to support asset performance and decision?making.
